Movo Ltd. Company came in to being in the year 1993 by privatization of Railway maintenence and machine-works. It indorses the tradition of railway work-shops, which were already established in Pilsen in the year 1862 and were heavily developing during 19th and 20th century. This was stimulated by the development of railway transport and railway vehicles.
In the year 1974 a basic reconstruction of factory buildings was finished and they got the present shape. A manufacturing program was also changed and a new one started i.e. reparation of passenger coaches, which has been lasting until now.
In this sector it became the biggest railway service for Czech railways (ČSD) in Czechoslovakia and it still tries to hold and evolve this position, for instance by maintaining radical reconstruction and total modernization of passenger coaches, which are suitable for high speed 160km/h and which satisfy international standards.
The company is situated in the neighborhood of the main railway station in the centre of Pilsen and is accessible from all directions by tracks or road. Already from the year 1999 MOVO Ltd. Company is a permanent holder of certificate of quality according to ISO 9001 and has a constant duty to prove and conserve this level. This guarantees the highest quality of our services to our home and also foreign customers. Verifications are made by Det Nosrke Veritas. Furthermore our Company owns and defends authorization from Czech railways, German Federal Railway Authority and Austrian railways for maintaining repairs, constructions and modernizations of railway coaches and their constructional parts.
Manufactural activity in welding area is under DIN 6700, ČSN EN 729-2 regulations and is checked by SLV Hannover and SVV Prague. MOVO Ltd. Company has got 400 employees nowadays after fundamental restructuralisation in 1999-2002 whose intension was to reduce costs. We have three main markets for our production. At first it is Czech Republic, in area of repairs and modernization of modern passenger coaches and second it is Germany and Austria, in area of repairs of private historic coaches and special coaches for private entrepreneurs.
